Antique industrial storage container for thread spools
Rare to find! The tall cardboard container comes from an old textile factory in Zwickau and is approx. 100 years old. The large industrial yarn spools were stored and transported in these tall containers. The yarn color was partly painted on the containers or the container was wrapped with the corresponding yarn. The tube-like container was made of thick, very strong and stable cardboard. The top and base of the container are reinforced with a metal ring. The very stiff, almost leather-like cardboard was riveted and stabilized with many rivets. Over the decades, the tall storage container has developed a beautiful patina. It is in good condition and is very stable. One-of-a-kind!
