Benin City was the former religious and royal center of today's Yoruba people and has been known for centuries for its expressive relief panels and sculptural pieces made of brass and bronze. The plate with the rider is very decorative. The metal surface has developed a beautiful patina over time. In some places rust has formed . Material: metal/bronze, Period: 2nd half 20th century.
