Vintage mask of a Balinese god
The vintage mask was made in Bali in the 1970s. The old wooden mask is hand-carved and hand-painted. The wooden tongue hangs on a string and produces the typical sound when the mask is moved. The mask is several decades old and has signs of wear. One ear has a damaged area and a crack has formed in the wood on the other side over time. A unique piece!
This wooden mask comes from the personal collection of a globetrotter whose house we were invited to clear out. A whole house full of beautiful things - handicrafts and unique pieces from all over the world. Many of these beautiful unique pieces are made of wood, handcrafted and expressive. The collector had a great fondness for sculpture and handmade sculptures - a craft that he practiced himself in private when he was in Germany for a longer period of time. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to determine the country of origin of some of the unique pieces - for others we know. At the end of the day, each piece speaks for itself.
