The combination of black and white is timeless. While the monochrome style used to stand for minimalism and elegance as well as a certain coolness, this is no longer the case today. On the contrary: rarely has a trend been so versatile. White has long been one of the most popular colours when it comes to our interiors. Now dark colours are also increasingly moving into our homes. Black can look very warm and sensual when combined with natural materials and different textures. Black allows other colours to shine and stand out much more than against a white background.
Black & white boho: Natural materials such as wood, bamboo, raffia or wool
A monochrome and, in this sense, neutral background calls for contrast, for isolated, restrained splashes of colour. Above all, however, it calls for structure and texture in the form of isolated striking objects and textiles such as furs or wool. Antiques and vintage furniture fit perfectly into such an ambience. Weather-worn wood, hand-woven baskets, archaic ceramic vessels and coarse linen make a home cosy.
As long as the background remains neutral, monochrome interiors can be combined with almost all home accessories.
