Vintage round Gurague coffee tray

Beautiful hand carved coffee tray from Ethiopia. The Gurague are an association of different ethnic groups in Ethiopia. They are considered industrious and skilled in handicrafts. The coffee tray was carved from one piece of wood and is used for coffee ceremonies as well as for presenting other food and drink. The handles and the edge of the tray are decorated with fine carvings. The tray has four feet. Unique piece!
