Decorative Ashanti comb from Ghana 

Handmade old Ashanti wooden comb from Ghana. This traditional African one-piece carved wooden comb comes from the Ashanti people of Ghana. There is a rounded flat head in the center that resembles the Akuaba fertility dolls. The combs are usually given by men to wives or lovers as gifts. The patterns always have symbolism. Very large combs are not used as hair ornaments, but as badges of honor. Unique piece!
