Hand-carved large head sculpture from Africa
Very decorative hand-carved
large wooden bust from southern Africa. The expressive head sculpture was made
by an artist from a single piece of wood. It impresses with its size (62 cm
high), the beautiful wood colour and the expressive face. The head sculpture
has only a few signs of use.
This wooden bust comes from the personal
collection of a globetrotter whose house we were invited to clear out. A whole
house full of beautiful things - collected over decades - handicrafts and
unique pieces from all over the world. Many of the beautiful unique pieces are
made of wood, handcrafted and expressive. The collector had a great fondness
for sculpture and handmade sculptures - a craft that he practised himself in
private when he was in Germany for a longer period of time. Unfortunately, it
is not possible for us to determine the country of origin of some of the unique
pieces - for others we know. At the end of the day, each piece speaks for
itself.
